This is such a great thread!! I think I’ll return to it and read it often. You ladies are so inspiring!
I’ve just now gotten to the point in my TMS recovery that I am not as obsessed with my symptoms and more thinking about what I can do for fun and peace. I agree with what
@HealingMe said about avoiding social media. And I would add to it that I completely avoid the news. It’s just too damaging to my health. All this doomsday talk doesn’t do me any good at all. And what is it that Tom Petty said? “Most of the things I worry about never happen anyway.”
Here’s my current list of self-care:
Knitting
Watching birds
Watching shows about art or travel
Watching good movies (Nothing stressful!)
Reading good novels — or listening to them
Stretching and exercises
Walking
Watching the sunset or sunrise
Sitting on my deck and smelling the fresh air
Deep breathing
Meditation
Prayer
Reading the Bible and contemplating it
Listening to inspirational talks or sermons
Vividly daydreaming of my fun future plans
Learning languages on a phone app
Playing games or doing puzzles on my phone
Painting pictures
Coloring
Writing stories
Journaling
Watching or listening to comedians
Listening to soothing or uplifting music
Listening to hymns and singing along
Eating ice cream cones
Painting digital pictures on my phone using an app
