TIL - that is what those trees are called! I've seen some in the area and always takes my breath away with their blossoms covering the area.gorgeous Jacaranda trees that drop their spent blossoms this time of year creating a "purple rain"
Today I am so thankful for:
- A wonderful fun spontaneous phone call with a friend
- Exploration of different physical activities that invigorate me - yesterday kickboxing, today rebounding with weights, and tomorrow looking for other fun things to explore
- Very tasty peanut butter honey bar
- Positive possibilities
- Kindness from a neighbor
It was great, @HealingMe!How did you like kickboxing? I was thinking of taking a class; I am definitely intrigued!
So great, @Mala! Happy summer!Felt like summer nails so had them done yesterday.
So happy to hear your pup is feeling better, @HealingMe! That's great that you've built your awareness and were able to take time to journal and feel all of your feelings.Today I am grateful for:
- One of my pup's feeling better after having a severe allergy reaction. It has been stressful the last couple of days and I've gotten less than 5 hours of sleep. However, I am grateful I recognized how I tried to repress my feelings because of the whole situation and taking the time for myself to journal, do some emotional work, and have a good cry because of it all. Even though I wasn't afraid, it was interesting observing how old TMS symptoms begin to creep up.
- Friday!!!
- That my mom is happy
- Delicious Moscow mule I made this evening
Ahhh, yesssss, sleep definitely is something I'm grateful for too!sleep for a little bit more than 7 hours last night.
It was great, @HealingMe!
If you have an interest, definitely would encourage looking into it more...
Several years ago it was my go to activity and I loved the energy of it! Doing it the other day was like flipping the script now, as I have been trying to do only super calming/soothing activities (like breathing exercises/walking/slow stretching - which are great, though seemed to be sending a message to myself in some way that I'm not strong enough to do anything else). So, spending some time, kicking, punching, and bobbing and weaving with loud music on was a great opportunity to experience a perspective shift!
There are a ton of videos online you could check out before trying a class, just to see if any of it is of interest (of course, a lot of it depends on the instructor and such so fun to explore different options)
Looking forward to hearing if you check out a class!
I'm looking into other "script flipping" activities now
I’ve been meaning to ask on behalf of myself and others on this forum… in this photo of the band, is that you in the middle? Are you able to say what band it is? Curious minds want to know!I lost one of my Pups this week. Even though he's gone, I am grateful for the time, love and life we shared together. Broken Windows, Torn up sofa's and Laughter.
His sister is still with me. I never would have gotten HER if I hadn't have been totally in love with HIM, so I am also grateful to Him for being such a great Dog that I wanted another one. It hurts, but I wouldn't change anything except lengthening our time together.
I am Grateful for my sons. We were all together at 'the end' so to speak, and for the last 32 years, I have never been alone, no matter how sorry I was feeling for myself. They have become their own men a long time ago and I couldn't have designed or dreamed for better sons
I am Grateful for Dr. Sarno. I never even met him and he saved my life by writing down the truth.... even when it was very uncomfortable and he got no glory. I never would have had all of the fun I have doing activities without worry If I didn't pick up his book.
Grateful to know enough trades to keep myself fed and a roof over our heads.
Grateful that I live in a place where I can be in complete silence in Nature in 10 minutes.
Grateful for guitar and being able to play :To park my insatiable curiosity into something benign and and Beautiful and satisfying
Grateful for the people on this forum so I can have a place to be Honest and not pretend to be who and what other people might be expecting me to beView attachment 2113 View attachment 2114 View attachment 2115 View attachment 2116
