PPD Professional Training from Dr. Howard Schubiner, author of Unlearn Your Pain, December 6-7, 2011.
From December 6-7, 2011 Dr. Howard Schubiner will be providing professional training for physicians and mental health professionals on how to implement the diagnostic techniques outlined in Unlearn Your Pain. SIRPA Practitioner Training, September 14-17, 2011

Success Story Teleconference, June 14, 2010, 2:30 PM EST
SIRPA will be hosting a monthly teleconference for patients to discuss their success stories. Preference will be given to those peers who have used the SIRPA Recovery Program.

2nd TMS/PPD Live Panel of Success Stories. Oct. 17, 2010. 12:00 PM-2:00 PM
In the same vein as Dr. Sarno's "Alumni Panels", we will have a 2 hour session on line using DimDim (a webinar meeting room). 4 panelists will take 10-15 minutes each and share their TMS success story. While the panelists are speaking you can text in questions for the panelists. After each panelist is done, we will have a Q&A session with your questions.

Stress Illness Practitioner Association (SIRPA) Launch Party Oct. 9, 2010
The newly formed TMS organization, SIRPA, formed by Georgie Oldfield, MCSP, will be launched on October 9, 2010 in Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University. Speakers of the program will be Georgie Oldfield, Dave Clarke MD, Paul Scott, Greg Smith. The launch is open to medical and mental health professionals, the media, and the general public. BBC Radio Leeds, UK - Thursday 22nd October 2009
Georgie Oldfield from the West Yorkshire Pain Relief Centre has been asked to appear on Liz Green's lunchtime show on BBC Radio Leeds, between 13:00 and 14:00hrs GMT. Georgie is slowly but surely getting the word of TMS out to the public and the medical profession.

TMS will be the discussion of the day and Georgie will have two brave patients with her who have recovered from their TMS.

Dr. Howard Schubiner will be holding a retreat for people with TMS from Monday October 12 to Friday October 16, 2009 at the Kripalu Institute in western Massachusetts.

The retreat is called Unlearn Your Pain: A Mind-Body Approach to Chronic Pain. The event discusses Dr. Schubiner's Mind Body program, goes over the underlying causes of pain, and provides "exercises in therapeutic journaling, meditation, and brain reprogramming" to help people with chronic pain retrain their brains.

The cost of the program ranges from $731 to $1,679, depending on the guest's choice of accommodation. Furthermore, participants will receive a complimentary enrollment in Dr. Schubiner's four-week online program.

A NOTE FROM AFTER THIS EVENT: Dr. Schubiner posted an article about the event on his blog. As reflected on this page, Dr. Schubiner returned to Kripalu in the fall of 2010 and of 2011 to lead similar retreats.

TMS Success Stories-Live Panel: October 11, 2009, Online, Free
Matthew and Peg from the TMS Wiki are hosting a TMS Success Stories-Live Panel. It will be an interactive webinar, fashioned after Dr. Sarno's monthly Alumni Panels.

Four people who have had success, using Dr. Sarno's theory, will tell their inspiring stories of recovery. Video will be used for the stories, followed by the opportunity for participants to send questions by text, which will be answered by the four panelists.

Louise Levy gave a free seminar talk in the Education Zone at the BackShow, Earls Court Olympia, London.

The talk was entitled:

"YOU ALREADY HAVE THE POWER WITHIN YOU TO REDUCE YOUR PAIN".

Louise welcomed along anyone who was interested in learning more about alternative approaches to managing pain. It was very well received.

Teletour of the wiki and TMS chat
The first teletour of the wiki and TMS chat took place on Sunday May 31 and was a great success, with participants from 3 continents.

We had an interesting chat about TMS and different people's experiences. At the end, HilaryN, an active wiki editor and Forest, the wiki creator gave an online tour of the wiki and explained briefly how to edit and contribute to the wiki.

L.A. Mind-Body Conference, March 27-28, UCLA, $210
