Clinical Training for the Treatment of Mind-Body Disorders

Building on the 2012 conference When Stress Causes Pain: Innovative Treatments for Psychophysiologic Disorders and the 2013 Master Class, PPD practitioners Alan Gordon, LCSW and Howard Schubiner, MD, in partnership with the Psychophysiologic Disorders Association (PPDA), presented a two-day training for the treatment of mind-body disorders. Located in Los Angeles, CA, this training was held on Saturday November 2nd and Sunday November 3rd, 2013 and focused on building clinical skills.

Presenters

Alan Gordon, LCSW is the founder and director of the Pain Psychology Center in Beverly Hills, California, and is also on the board of the PPDA. Alan also served as the chair for the PPDA's 2010 Mind-Body Conference in Los Angeles. Alan has been an active member within the PTPN community as well, participating on the PTPN's discussion forum and appearing as a guest speaker for special webinar events. Alan also developed a free, multimedia recovery program, which he donated to the TMS Wiki in June of 2013.

Howard Schubiner, MD is the founder and director of The Mind-Body Medicine Center of Providence in Southfield, Michigan, and is the author of Unlearn Your Pain. Like Alan, he is also on the board of the PPDA, and presented at the 2010 Mind-Body Conference in Los Angeles. Dr. Schubiner is also an active member of the PTPN's community, answering numerous questions as part of the resource Q&A with an Expert.
