Have an appt with Dr Schecter scheduled for tmrw. Backs been hurting me more then usual, feel nervous about the appt. wish me luck guys

Benny, that is wonderful that you are getting to see Dr. Schecter. Please let us know how it goes. My subconscious threw a fit when It knew I was going to see a TMS doc. I gave it no thought. Had fun on my trip to see the TMS doc and even made a side trip to do a little Gambling......LOL.

I think there's still some doubt as to if I have Tms or not so seeing him should clear my mind. Really anxious this morning and felt a twinge in my calf. Tms moves around so I guess this is a symptom huh. Thank u guys,I'll let u know how it goes :)

I came down with back spasms two days before my trip to see Dr. Gwozdz. The unconscious hates the idea that it might be 'found out'. Your increase in pain is TMS for sure.

So is your anxiety, most likely. Anxiety is a TMS equivalent. It too acts as a distraction.

Good luck tomorrow.

David, you are so right. The day I was due to discuss a very sensitive subject with my TMS therapist, my back pain got worse.........literally 4 hours before the Skype appointment. I had decided that I was going to divulge something private (that had caused me great stress) in the months before I got sick 7 years ago. So I discussed this issue with my TMS therapist, and then about a day later, BOOM...........the pain increased to about a 9.

IT did not like the idea that I was taking about this stressful issue and was trying so hard to get my attention by increasing my pain. I did a good job of ACCEPTANCE. I did not fight or resist the pain. I was amazed that in another 24 hours my back pain was down to baseline of a 2 or 3. That was such a confidence builder for me. Also, that was the first time ever that I was able to get the pain down that quickly. So much proof that it is TMS and not structural.

I went to see Dr Schecter Monday afternoon. He sat down and asked me many questions regarding my pain, stressors, personal traits etc n then he examined me physically. Checked nerves, range of motion and tender points in my back,I had 2 tender points. He then looked over my X-ray. He said X-ray wasn't that clear, but that disc space looked normal. He said it was up to me to get an mri,but he didn't think it was necessary. He diagnosed me with TMs. I went to get the mri just now. I want the piece of mind and know 100% that it's not a structural problem. On the way home from the mri Center my back was hurting a lot. The weird thing is when I got home my butt started pulsating n a lil uncomfortable and it never has. Typically my pain is just In my back. Tmrw I should get results from mri. I'll let u guys know once I get them

You got it scared it does not like that kind of conformation that you have tms…know start the SEP program and take one day at a time, don't monitor the pain…get out and do something you like….make a plan of things you want to get done show the inner child who is boss.

I got the results from the mri. The imaging place faxed them to me. Dr Schecter is supposed to review them and email me. I'm scared since I do t understand the results. Anyone on here familiar with this or can give me some input? Here's the results

But here is the part I don't understand....Why do you need an MRI????

If your back shows degeneration, herniation, arthritis, stenosis, etc...

What will you do?? Believe that it is structural?? What will an MRI prove????

I understand, but, this sounds like stenosis which is TMS!!!! To be honest if you go on Georgie's website, there are people who had the same thing you do in your MRI....Narrowing of the disc, aka disc height is stenosis which EVERYONE has....I am sure Dr. "S" will say you have TMS....

This doesn't cause back pain....

SteveO had things like you had and he got well...

Kalo

Go on Georgina's site and people have had protrusion, stenosis, etc. NONE of which cause their pain....

To be truthfully unless a doc suspects tumors or infection, I am surprised Dr. "S" suggested MRI...

Why do these TMS docs do this to us!

Then they say don't believe your MRI if stuff like what yours came up with...

Where is Dr. Sarno when you need him....

Kalo

Yes, but so did STEVEO!!!! Unless you have tumor, or infection you can heal cause this is TMS....I was told not to have an X-ray nor MRI and for the last 5 months I have had right sciatica pain and left pain in my leg...The doc said I had SI joint dysfunction...WTF
