Number of year in practice: 5
Number of years in practice with patients who have TMS: 5
Number of patients you have seen who have had TMS: I have worked with quite a few people who I believe have TMS but it is difficult for some of them to accept the diagnosis. I did see a few who had complete resolution of their symptoms.
Have you ever suffered from TMS? Yes
Are you able to conduct therapy sessions over the phone? Yes (However, insurance will not cover)
What insurance plans do you currently accept? Carefirst BC/BS, Aetna, InforMed, Tricare, Johns Hopkins, APS, CorpHealth, MHN, MHNet, PMHM, Quest, ComPsych, Medicare.
Do you have a sliding scale of payment for people not covered by insurance? Yes
What have you done to educate yourself about TMS, and what plans do you have for further education about TMS?
Having had a severe case of TMS myself, I'm pretty much an expert as I researched everything possible on the subject and was cured using Dr. Sarno's method. I also have had extensive coursework in the psychology of TMS. One course was with Ron Siegel at a Psychotherapy Networker Symposium in Washington D.C. I refer clients to Dr. Andrea Leonard-Segal for a diagnosis since I am not a medical doctor. She is located in Washington D.C. and can refer clients to me for psychotherapy.
I recently attended the Ann Arbor TMS Conference and Intergrative Medicine Workshop on Chronic Pain.
I am hoping to become certified as a TMS practitioner when certification becomes available.
