SEP or Pain Recovery Programme

Hi all,

I wanted to get people’s thoughts on the SEP versus the PRP?

I’m finally going to start doing some proper TMS work and not sure which of these two programmes to start with.

Thanks

SEP is a very well rounded program that focuses on TMS info and journaling prompts. PRP has TMS info and gives examples of how people healed. I personally prefer the SEP over the PRP. Maybe start with SEP first as journaling helps us get in touch with our emotions and do the PRP afterwards.

I agree with @Joulegirl that the SEP is a well rounded program which directly addresses both fear and other emotions and buried anger/rage as part of its process. The PRP is based on Alan Gordon's 'Pain Reprocessing Therapy' dealing with fear (and other emotions) without focussing on buried anger/rage. I too would suggest starting with the SEP first and then doing the PRP. (And, should you need it, imo a good follow up to the PRP is 'The Pain Reprocessing Therapy Workbook: Using the Brain's Neuroplasticity to Break the Cycle of Chronic Pain' by Vanessa M. Blackstone and Olivia Sinaiko, which is endorsed in the workbook's foreword by Alan Gordon.)
