Beloved Grand Eagle
Sadly most people don’t even begin to realise the impact lockdown is having on vulnerable people. Be grateful that all you’re suffering from is an aggravation of TMS. Think on this:
my husband has experienced a progression of Parkinson’s during the lockdown. All his therapy stopped in March and we had to plead for an appointment with a nurse following an emergency visit from paramedics.
my mum is very poorly and was given a same day CT scan a fortnight ago and has an fMRI imminent. They don’t know what’s wrong. Maybe early signs of dementia. Whatever it is the lockdown has dramatically affected her.
my brother-in-law is in a residential home with Benson’s dementia. No one could visit him for months. One of his daughters went a couple of weeks ago as Lockdown eased and spent an hour in the garden with him. The last time my husband called him, he didn’t remember his children names.
Three small examples of the brutal impact lockdown is having on vulnerable people. This is happening to millions of people with very real, terrible conditions.
My TMS is awful too.
I hate having to wear a mask, wash my hands till they fall apart, live in such a restricted mind-bending fashion BUT compared to my loved ones it’s a cake walk.
Dear @plum, sending you and your family my love and warmest wishes.
