A year ago I started a chair exercise program and it is helping… but I was looking for more …some kind of a solution for me and I found it last week. I found this app that is a simple timer to remind you to stand up. (it’s actually called Stand Up!) it’s free. You can set the timer for how frequently it reminds you to stand up, how long you stay up, and it gives you stats on how many times you stood up, etc. I’m standing every 30 minutes. Huge improvement!
At first, when I set the timer on this app, it was really hard to get up and now I pretty much jump up when the timer goes off and I’m standing vertical and feeling less pain.
It’s funny the little game changers that can come your way. A couple of days ago, I made cookies for the first time in about three years. I really love to bake. (my husband helped a little, but it was a great start.)
Maybe people with other kinds of symptoms could use this app. I think it would work for anything that you want to expose yourself to on a disciplined level throughout your day.
