wow,

I wish they had some sort of chronic pain stimulation device to use on people like this. then he told me my back would never get better and I should learn to deal with it and I would know real pain when I got married!!
talk about Nocebo.

I've been on the receiving end of several medical hexes myself and it is shocking to me every time. Just the other day, while visiting my primary care physician and discussing some new hip pain I've had, he pointed is finger at my nose and pronounced, "I'll tell you what's going to happen. The arthritis in your hip will just continue to get worse and worse and eventually you'll need a hip replacement. Just a question of when."

I've since decided the hip pain is just another TMS event. And I've decided I need a different primary care physician.

It's so unfortunate that one needs to insulate themselves from what the doctor might say.

Yes, I agree it is very frustrating. After having my back pain for some time, I visited my doctor as I felt the need to get a diagnosis. I was then sent to a "pain clinic". I was put on pain-killers and told to come back in 3 months, when I asked why I was in pain, the specialist said very bluntly " we are not here to do diagnosis, we just manage the pain." Once I found out about TMS, I gave up going to the pain clinic. To me the whole concept is wrong. Just seeing that word (PAIN) and sitting in the PAIN waiting room is enough to make you feel worse. In fact, I can now see that my pain deepened with each visit.

Dahlia - this may be of interest to you. When my husband was 46, he had to have a hip replacement due to arthritis. He was told that he would also need to have the other hip done fairly soon after. Well that was 15 years ago, and no operation has been needed on the second hip. Since finding about about TMS he now believes that he probably never needed to be operated on at all.

Great to hear you're making progress Irish. Yeah I got to the point of not trusting any specialist, but that was only after 20 years of placing my trust and faith in them.

To help you along the belief road I'd recommend you watch 'The Biology of Belief' youtube video from Bruce Lipton and get yourself a copy of 'You are the Placebo' by Dr Joe Dispenza. The more you explore, the more solid your belief will become. You're doing great :) Colly

Good to know!

have come across Lipton before and appreciate his credentials but comes across as too New-agey for my liking!
Have Dispenzas book on kindle too

I found an EFT video I like best. It's on Youtube at
"Louise Hay Sits Down with The Tapping Solution's Nick Ortner."

Louise Hay is a big believer in MindBody (TMS) and Tapping.
I watched this video and it worked for me, to relieve some anxiety.

I agree that forgiving is the key to healing.

when I confided in a familiar stranger via twitter about feeling hopeless regarding chronic pain, Louise Hays book 'How to heal your life' was her first recommendation.
I haven't read it yet but familiar with a lot of the concepts. Forgiveness is a powerful thing indeed!

Aw thank you all for your feedback, you’re all so kind! Yes yb44, I’m not sure where I would be now if I hadn’t met Mr Sauna man... Though all it took was one ‘Google’ search to unlock this discovery. Yes Sheree, can you imagine the backlash from the medical community if David Cameron rolled out a new medical paradigm - there’d be riots on Harley street haha! I couldn’t believe my luck too when I discovered this amazing forum, and am so grateful too for all those contributing here. America is so far ahead of UK and Australia in this field, and they even have their own TMS physicians! I looked up TMS practitioners last year and there’s only one listed in Australia, about a ten minute walk from my house by sheer luck! Yes Sarah, it’s thanks to Steve’s book that I’m running now. While Dr Sarno’s theory ignited the search for answers, it was Steve’s own recovery story that got me off the couch to challenge and overcome my fears. There’s something so powerful about getting that personal account of someone’s suffering and recovery, something that no theory book can cut through, and I’m so grateful to Steve Ozanich for the time, sweat and tears it took to write his story.

Hi Colly!

I have read through a few of your posts now, and they have been helping me a lot. You defiantly have a good reading list under your belt - that i will be sure to get onto one by one!
Just read that you went to see the TMS practitioner in Fairfield Melbourne. I am thinking of doing the same. Would you recommend him, and did you find him beneficial?

We can become overwhelmed by reading books on TMS healing and related topics.
Don't let it happen to you. Many of the books cover the same subjects.
Get the books one at a time and don't get another until you've read the first on your list,
then read the second, etc.
I've found many of the books at amazon.com books for 99 cents or a few dollars. They're
used but most are in good condition.

Hope you will add my book with Eric Watson (Herbie), GOD DOES NOT WANT YOU TO BE IN PAIN,
with our TMS histories and techniques for healing, and we add the faith element.
