Mouth taste

I have been experiencing a strange taste in my mouth that comes and goes for the past 4 months. Bitter or metallic I guess.Been to my dentist and she said that nothing was wrong teeth wise. It is very annoying since even the water I drink tastes bad.
Has anyone ever experienced something like that and if so, was it connected to tms?

I get it sometimes, just not enough to bother me. Given the sporadic nature, I would be comfortable putting it down to TMS (although it doesn't bother me enough to warrant investigation).

I think the clue here is that it comes and goes.

Spot on :)

I don't understand the pattern.some days ago I had a day with normal taste. The days that followed showed that something was about to start.Today, it is bitter as hell.

"Hey, if that keeps happening, it wouldn't hurt to get some tests done to make sure your kidneys are running at one hundred percent. Once you rule that out, maybe it's just your mind playing tricks on you because of stress or trying to scare you."

I have had this exact same experience. For me it was 100% anxiety related (which effectively was TMS).
I had an upcoming event that I was super stressed about. Leading up to the event, I had this terrible metallic taste in my mouth.
A simple web search and you will see that anxiety can cause this.

For me it passed rather quickly after understanding this and getting through the personal event.

@cloud Is it purely a bitter taste or do you have any other symptoms as well?... like...
  • Frequent throat clearing or excess mucus/phlegm
  • A chronic dry cough
  • Hoarseness or voice fatigue
  • A feeling of a lump or tightness in the throat (globus sensation)
  • Post-nasal drip
These are the symptoms of silent reflux aka Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR). In my experience, LPR can come and go in association with how stressed and fearful we are in our lives.

Not really. It happened during a very difficult and stressful time in my life with no association with any medical conditions.
I usually think the worst scenario and that is hy the feeling becomes even more extreme some days.I seem to experience some mouth dryness since yesterday and I think that stress is taking control
