A huge part of my going from being bedridden with wide-spread head to toe pain, severely painful muscle spasms and chronic fatigue for a total of over 18 months and housebound for many years (I came doing mind-body/TMS work late) to now functioning pretty normally by comparison was through doing micro-movements.
I found that micro-movements can ground/anchor your nervous system, reduce anxiety, and show your brain that there's no danger, that you're safe.
Practising them for a few moments on a regular basis throughout the day, meant that I was able to very gradually build on those movements because they were so small that they kind of 'flew under the radar' as far as my brain was concerned and didn't alarm it at all, or at least didn't alarm it enough to worsen my symptoms.
This just involved simple stuff like ever so slightly circling the shoulder joints, circling and moving the neck and head and ankles, gently tapping my feet or rocking my torso ever so slightly from side to side. Just tiny movements, yet so profoundly effective and, from my experience, not to be underestimated.
