Sounds like migraine to me (post traumatic migraine I think it's called) -- I had that when my sister's car was hit from behind and I bumped my head

@kai123 Thanks for your encouraging response!
I'm glad for you that new little bumps in the head don't flare up your symptoms anymore - that's awesome.
Since I started this thread, my reaction to tiny hit was gradually improved too!
Nonetheless, I am also more cautious about bumping my head again as a tall guy, still bearing in mind the first strong bump.
So it's kind of a combination of the two - I protect my head more than in the past and at the same time when I happen to hit the head I try not to freak out as much.
    So far so good!
    All best,

Oh absolutely! Taking precautions to minimise the number of times you bump your head makes sense for anyone, especially since you are taller than average. E.g. we have a rule at my house that we don't leave upper cabinet doors open.

Amazing that working on your fear response has helped a bit already. So glad to hear it. I'm sure it will be a continued journey for us both but hopefully it gets easier from here.

Super late response to this thread, but absolutely 100%... I am a tall guy who hits my head too often. A good smack on a cabinet set off symptoms back in 2014. I had CT scan, was basically cleared of a concussion. But, you know how the mind is. The symptoms hung around for a while, but it was largely ramped up anxiety and brain fog. (Both of which I had some of to begin with, I was in full panic disorder prior to the hit.). Then, after that over the years, if I bonk my head... I can get ramped up symptoms. Beyond what makes sense. I recently hit my head on a shelf above me and I'd say it was a 5/10 hard. Wasn't fun, but no real pain in the spot after and no bump, even. Yet... the symptoms flared up for days. So, I'm highly suspicious it's the nervous system at play and have dug around over the years and other people seem to think the same. (Including you it sounds like.) Plus, I really didn't have a history of head trauma. Maybe a couple when I was a kid, but that should be long healed. So, I suspect this is anxiety/TMS kicking up when it perceives a danger. Just wanted to chime in since many might not understand the life of us tall people hitting our heads on things lol.

@BinLA Thanks for sharing your tall person story and I can defintely relate to your course of symptoms at each bump.
The thing is that these kinds of TMS symptoms are fleeting anyways and are not classic chronic symptoms that Sarno's knowledge therapy helps with as a solo fix.
It's rather a reaction symptom to legit physical instance which makes the coping more complex.
It's hard to reeducate our fearful brain that we are just fine after tiny head bumps.
This still happens to me here and there and I noticed that an hour nap can clear up my brain fog, probably as the nap helps my nervous system to calm down the overwhelm and frustration of the bump (which I can't overcome without the nap). That way, together with the TMS awareness I developed through the years, the symptoms dissipate short after.
This is the case for 2/10 in severity scale tiny bumps. As for the tougher ones like 5/10 you mentioned they take longer like 2-3 days yet not as they used to linger in the past (almost a week). The more I rest and move on with normal life the faster the recovery.
You are welcome to share new TMS techniques or insights you have for these minor head bump symptoms!
