I'm basically in pain all the time, but not always in very severe pain. I haven't been in touch with medical experts about my pain for at least a year. This Tuesday I had an appointment with a physioterapist. I was there to get started with some training and because I wanted a second (or more like 12th
) opinion. She looked at my joints and did som tests to see if my joints are hypermobile / too loose, which they are. I have earlier got the diagnosis Hypermobility Syndrome / Ehler Danlos Syndrome III .
After this I got a massive flare up with more pain than in a long time, very unbearable. I was also very scared about my future, since the diagnosis Hypermobility Syndrome is a quite hopeless one and I don't even have any pain medication that works, at all. I had a lot of catastrophy thoughts about how my life will turn out with this diagnosis, these pains and with the situation that I am in now - that I cant do almost any exercise (not even walking) without getting more pain.
Now, 2 days after the appointment, I finally get out of my "fright bubble" and I can understand with one part of myself that the flare up was probably caused by my panic and dark thoughts. But I still feel that the diagnosis I have been given, that my joints are too loose and make the whole body's muscles work like crazy all the time = pain, could be right. I really want to believe fully in TMS in my own case.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there any way to "catch" the fear before it takes over completely and makes the whole mindbody go into panic and alarm? I'm thankful for any input.
I hope you understand my english, greetings from Finland
