Greg,
Thanks for your openness. Discussion of dying and the realization of 'everyone dies' are not easy topics to discuss in most circumstances. Fortunately this forum has provided us with an opportunity to explore and sometimes expose our innermost fears. In itself, this can often be a good thing.
I lost my parents, my mother when I was 34 and my dad when I was 46. I am many years past both those ages now. Have been retired for five years. These are years that have been tumultuous and challenging for me. I too feel the knock of aging not only at my door, but actually resting in my living room, so to speak. Combined with the loss of siblings and friends it sometimes seem a bit much to handle.
My TMS symptoms, that had been apparent many years before my retirement, but had subsided due mostly to me having to ignore them, came back with a vengeance not long after retiring from my career. Add to this, there were a number of deaths, including my brother, and another family rift, that occurred. My TMS was roaring. I was back to needing a walking stick, sciatica (familiar with your struggle), hip pain, back pain, shoulder, knee pain, and other irritating pain issues came on with a vengeance.
Most of my pains are gone now, except the hip, which I am 'focusing' on now.
I understand the wanting to accomplish certain things to give you the satisfaction of having made positive, wanted changes in your life. I do not know how old you are, but I understand the drive to want to accomplish. I returned for a graduate degree in my 40's and went on to have a very successful, later in life career. This, in itself, was satisfying and I am glad I did this, yet, this success does not necessarily diminish the reality of aging, and the new stressors that aging brings to the fore. My wish for you is that you can accomplish what you need to do in order to give you this sense of fulfillment. Yet, don't be surprised at the little feelings that will occur from time to time, that will still remind you that yes, we are all aging.
My hope is to age without these TMS pains and I hope this for you as well. You have encouraged me to revisit Alans program.
Thanks for your posts.
Lainey,
Thank you for responding to my post.
I thought I would share with you a bit more about me. To start, as far back as I can remember I been a very open person. In way I have a good life but in other ways it is very challenging. I guess you could also say, my future could be very promising so this is another reason why death is such a FEAR of mine.
While in my 40's I used to say to myself, "I would like to make it to 50 and not be on any prescribed medication". I not only made it to 50 but at 54 I am still not on any prescribed medications. I now would love to make it to 60 or beyond. This has become more important to me because of my understanding what prescribed medications can do to our gut health.
Until 2013 I worked full-time for 30 plus years. I was let go and offered a package which at the time was very much appreciated but today has left me financially struggling. Still, I have no interest going back working full-time so my financial struggle in many ways is my fault. This has led me to my recent discovery of two at home based business opportunities which I will share a bit with you.
Before I get to them I also work part-time for an amazing organization called the Ottawa Senators Foundation. I am at every Ottawa Senators hockey helping to raise money for my community while selling 50/50 tickets. This is my most fulfilling job ever in my life to date. The money we raise is helping with youth mental health!
My Current Projects:
The bonus of saying good-bye to my parents has opened my eyes to health. It has helped create an importance of health in my life. This has created a curiosity as to what is out there to help benefit my health. It has also helped create a burning desire and passion to want to help others live a more enjoyable life. Hence, me wanting to be that more open with the hope it helps others.
Since the loss of my father in 2010 I do spend time online researching and have learned so much. This brings me to my two home based projects I am working on.
I have already previously had a request to share information but held back because I didn't want me coming on here about promoting my projects. My main focus is my benefit but if I am able to help others, then wonderful.
My first project is with an US based company that produces products which help naturally to increase a very important antioxidant with our body called, glutathione. I won't get into glutathione on here but if you'd like more information please either do your research or contact me.
My second project is in affiliate marketing where I joined a very large online community of over 1 billion people. This is an education opportunity while at the same time creating an online business. My niche I am working on is a website focused on offering naturally solutions for improving every day health challenges. I am using my website to help promote Alan's program because I think it is an amazing program. More importantly, this program is FREE.
It isn't too often you'll find something online for free. This just goes to show how much Alan really wants to help better the lives of others.
"Thank you" Alan for everything you're doing to help people that deal with chronic pain.
I hope Alan and his team won't mind me sharing with you my website I am currently working on,
www.maximizingyourhealth.com.
This is very new so content is very limited but in the weeks and months I will be added so much more.
