  • Ellen, your story is such an inspiration. I will try to implement a lot of the things you wrote here on your profile. Thanks for being you!
thank yoiu for sharing your story and things that helped you. i relate to so many of your experiences, pain affecting work. i like how you talk to yourself, and ive been using some of your self talk since reading your post, like: "No one is perfect. I am entitled to feel the full array of human emotions."
Despite all these challenges you persisted and didnt give up, very inspiring.
Thanks Ellen. So inspiring and I’m glad that your hard work and persistence has paid off. I’m experiencing a body wide relapse/flare-up after several really good months, so your advice on relapsing is especially helpful—particularly when it comes to avoiding catastrophic thinking and overly obsessive attempts at healing.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I have been suffering from back pain for the past week, and your sentence on 'relapse' was very reassuring. I have had TMS for most of my life but hadn't had a back problem for years. Remembering that I used to get this frequently helped so much when I read "you overcame TMS before and you can do it again".
Thank you for sharing your story! Your story about sleep is really inspiring. I’m gonna try this out, starting today! I heard something about the book ‘Say good night to sleep’. Did you read this also? I don’t know if it will be like Tms or the mind-body approach. Thank you for sharing!
This is very helpful. Thank you. All my issues have improved. But daily migraines unchanged. I am a retired psychotherapist. I treated with hypnotherapy. But I cannot get any reduction with migraine and the drugs I am on are not allowed at my age. I won’t give up. But I am struggling. I love what you’ve written. Ty
Hello Ellen, I'm a chronic pain survivor too and am starting a podcast about pain sometime in the next few months. Would be willing to let me interview you? - it would be a chance for you to tell your story in audio form and help others.
Thank you for the time you put into writing your story. This is very comprehensive. Probably something I will reread as needed. Hope your still doing well.

Thanks for your comment. I'm still doing well, with the occasional relapse which resolves quickly once I acknowledge it's TMS.
Thank you for sharing your story. All success stories are encouraging, but I relate specifically to your story so much. This really does give me hope and confirms that I am already on the right track with strategies. I am using many of them already. Thank you!
Thanks Ellen for sharing such a cogent description of the TMS process and your experience of it. Copied it to share with others. I like how the info appeared on your phone (I had a similar "happy accident", a book left open on a neighbor's table).
Thank you so much for sharing your recovery story, Ellen. I have had chronic Vestibular Migraine for about 5 years. I have only realised in the past couple of weeks that it is totally psychosomatic and I know exactly what triggered it. So, I'm just starting my TMS recovery journey. Your story is both helpful and inspiring. <3
Thank you so much for sharing your story Ellen. You have so much wonderful advice, support and help here. Blessings to you....
This is great Ellen, thank you for sending me here! I will use your techniques and hopefully will be migraine free soon!
Thank your for sharing this and thank you for the good advices! Especially to limit the work with TMS to about an hour is very important to me. Not thinking about it all the time, but doing one hour concentrated work.
