    Day 12 Angry and disillusioned

I have had similar experiences to Cara. I have one more week of the SEP and I still have pain. Usually it is just low level something that I can forget about. Other times I have a flare up that is related to lack of sleep or stress. But last summer I went on two separate vacations and had no...

    Day 12 Angry and disillusioned

Maybe you are trying too hard...? Listen to Forrest's video on day 34 of the SEP. Sometimes pain increases before it gets better. It is hanging on and trying to keep you focused on it. Sometimes you need to just accept that you are in pain right now. I am reading Hope and help for your nerves by...

    Day 15 Movement of pain

It is good that you are exercising even though you still have pain. That is pretty much how it is for me. I still have pain, but at least I am doing the things that I enjoy, like hiking and cross country skiing. Your daily meditation is great and will help you in the long run. Keep at it!

Day 8 It's not the chair that's hurting me, it's the pressure I put on myself

Good work. It sounds like you have alot of insight.

Day 9 Lost hope and optimism

Don't give up and be patient. The fact that you are in this program and recognizing your personality traits that contribute to TMS is great. I have some of that "planning every minute" and "have to " personality myself. It sounds like you would benefit by some daily meditation. Remember it is a...

Day 25 How am I doing?

How am I doing after 25 days working the program? Well, ok. I still have symptoms. The last two weeks I have actually had an increase in symptoms. The big difference is that I am not worried because I know that it is not a physical/structural cause, so I am not reacting to the pain in an...

    Day 1 hopeful!

Welcome! I agree with your observation about horror stories on the internet. I have suffered from the chronic pain of tarsal tunnel syndrome in the foot (nerve pain from nerve entrapment) and every time that I looked for support on the internet all I found were horror stories ...luckily I found...

    Day 10

I have begun to notice that my foot pain is worse on Mondays. Yesterday I went cross country skiing for 3 hours, very physically strenuous up hill for 2 hours at high altitude. I never really thought about my foot pain and afterwards, I felt great! No pain. I even put away my ice bucket this...

    Day 8

    Thank you for the support!

    Day 8

I think the biggest lesson that I am learning is that this is a journey not a destination. My pain did not go away after reading Dr. Sarno's book, but I am learning to incorporate his theories into my thinking and learning not to fear the pain. Everyone progresses at his/her own speed. I am...
