self-sabotage and belittling, is this a TMS behavior?

Or rather a behavior of people who have TMS? I know when I talk to myself it's pretty mean, pretty horrible stuff (makes sense in my mind when I say it). I probably self-sabotage by doing things other than what I need to do. I know when I do them I will do them wrong and then have to do them...

If it's in our mind, why do certain movements and postures cause the problems?

So I'm doing therapy the other day and I realize I've been relaxing on the couch with my legs brought up under me and it's all a weird position, I even mentioned "whoa, look how I'm sitting" and dropped my legs down. For the next couple days, patellar femoral pain. That's just one example...

    The Transformative Power of Journaling

After reading the book Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving, by Pete Walker, I comprehended that I should be mad. But after being mad for a while, I read on reddit that allowing anger is bad because it generates a positive reward system. Anger feels grand. And even if you're justifiably...

    The Transformative Power of Journaling

Anger protects you. After being psychologically abused for years by a parent (I didn't even grasp this was a thing until a few years ago) I am raging. Constantly. Talking about it makes me rage. Writing about it makes me rage. It's the anger I wish I had when it was happening. Instead of...

    The Transformative Power of Journaling

Can you explain the purpose of such behavior? Whenever I journal I just get livid. Is this part of the process? Honestly asking.

twitching thumb started a week ago, hasn't stopped

Nearly 3 weeks later and it's still happening. I think it might be exercise related. I had started a new exercise called Snake Turns Over which is a kung fu dynamic tension exercise. I had done only one rep on each side, about 20 seconds of tension total, and then it started. Part of the...

Can we talk about ‘secondary gain’? (What are you maybe getting from having TMS)

What's the goal, then? Repressing is bad. Smacking objects is bad (I read about doing this in Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving, as good advice), and venting is bad? So when you see the person you're angry at you're supposed to vent AT them?

Can we talk about ‘secondary gain’? (What are you maybe getting from having TMS)

Wow, this. My first instinct is "HOLY SHIT I SHOULD KILL THAT PERSON" and then I feel like a horrible person for even having that thought. I just put that thought out there in the universe. I am a terrible person. Only shitty people kill people, I am no better than the people I despise...

do you need to get out of the stressful situation or do you just need to acknowledge it?

As the author of this thread, I will tell you I have become very angry recently. I am still living with a narcissist abuser but my anger has become visible. Instead of keeping it inside, I am just fucking angry all the time. I verbally rage when I am alone. "What the F is your problem, how...

twitching thumb started a week ago, hasn't stopped

So I'm freaking out because Parkinson's runs in my family apparently. Anyway, I actually did a little exercise and later that day my thumb started twitching. Ok no problem. EXCEPT A WEEK LATER IT HASN'T STOPPED. I've had twitching muscles in the past, they go away shortly. Do you know the...

    Parkinson's

When you say constant exercise, do you mean programs guided by doctors? My dad has PD and is doing exercise basically endlessly, Speak Out in the morning and evening, lung capacity, other exercise programs, etc. He's on a low dose of C/L twice a day.
