So completely recovered, I forgot about this forum for years!

Back in 2016, I went down the rabbit hole of chronic pelvic pain. I think my old posts cover the whole story, but thanks to this forum and realizing it was a mind-body issue, I was able to reach what I consider complete recovery. I've been shifting emails and noticed I'd got some notification...

    Chronic Pelvic pain syndrome

I had pelvic pain for almost a half of a year (severe to the point that I was driving hours to specialists and was put on several medications), then treated it like it was TMS when it seemed only a mind-body cause made sense. I actually can't remember my last flare-up, but I think it was over...

Residual skin redness from fungal infection - TMS component?

Nothing major that I know of, but I do have a good update! Now that I've quit applying some rather strong anti-fungal powder (which actually is ineffective against the particular fungal species that causes this issue), the minor residual redness I was concerned about is going away. So it looks...

Residual skin redness from fungal infection - TMS component?

I might have answered my own question in a way. Turns out the medicated powder my doctor prescribed me these past 5 weeks is pretty much ineffective against jock itch, according to some fairly reputable medical associations. Perhaps the powder helped by drying things up, and I still have my...

Residual skin redness from fungal infection - TMS component?

Hi all, So I'm back! Thankfully this is not catastrophic and more my wondering if a physical condition might have a lingering TMS component. So good news first - my flare-up of pelvic pain at the beginning of the year went away and I've been great since. Life has been good. I came down with...

    Need help, desperately. Pudendal Nerve.

My pain started off with a false positive on a STD test, then it progressed to a diagnosis of non-bacterial prostatitis, followed by physical therapy, followed by going to the pudendal hope forums. I had constant pain, UTI-like symptoms at first, urinary urgency, etc. Sounds like we had very...

    Worse before better?

*Raises hand. I remember the first week I started TMS work. The pain was twice as bad. Then it started shifting.

    Interesting podcast on placebos

Hi all, I listen to a lot of podcasts and one of my favorites is Adam Ruins Everything, which brings in various experts/scientists to discuss a range of topics. This week, there was an episode on placebos with the Director of Placebo Genetics at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Kathryn Hall. I...

    Urge to urinate

That sounds very much like TMS. I used to constantly think about my symptoms and have stress/fear associated with them returning. That's actually a big driver of bringing TMS pain back and making it worse. Have you checked out Alan Gordon's Pain Recovery Program yet? I'd highly recommend it. It...

    Urge to urinate

That could very well be a TMS symptom. It was for me. I was diagnosed with chronic non-bacterial prostatitis, and had a fairly constant urge to urinate for quite some time. Some of the others here who've had urinary tract/pelvic TMS may have had similar experiences.

BFRBs (body-focused repetitive behaviors) and TMS

Hi all, I'm on the tail end of a flare (pain is slowly but surely fading away as I've got over my fear spike), and I noticed something strange. I have a fairly mild case of a BFRB (body-focused repetitive behavior) - basically, I chew my lip compulsively and kink my beard hairs between my...
