Need Feedback on Approach - Sound Sensitivity

Thank you both for your responses. I slept well for a few nights and had another sleepless night yesterday as I tried to sleep without drowning out the disruption. My anxiety felt like it was cyclically peaking throughout the night, and unfortunately, it felt very much like a setback. Today, I...

Need Feedback on Approach - Sound Sensitivity

A while ago I recovered from a sound sensitivity, triggered by a traumatic event a couple of years ago in which I developed insomnia for months after being unable to escape an intrusive sound in my apartment building while sleeping. It sounds small...but as the property did nothing to resolve it...

    Rage Dreams

I remember reading a take on TMS/MBS healing describing it as an end to internal conflict. I think many people are so quick to repress anger because of those many conflicting emotions. I've always found it is easier to for me to show anger at something/someone that is inconsequential. In fact...

    Rage Dreams

I agree it is very insidious... it is only very recently that I've even been able to recognize the anger and other conflicting emotions I have towards my mother. When I was a kid, and in young adulthood, it was safe to say I was very oblivious. I would've been hard-pressed to tell anyone the...

    Rage Dreams

I really appreciate the insight you provide here. You're right that I was overlooking that last component. The first three emotions - anger, guilt, and grief - are much more accessible to me at the moment. I was able to feel all of those fully when doing the exercise, but facing the love and...

    Rage Dreams

Thanks both, I'm hoping it is a sign I am on the right track. It has definitely made it harder to ignore how I feel towards my mom, which has resulted in needing to find ways to process those emotions.

Resources for accepting and not resisting the pain?

Even if just at home, I’ve found it helps to engage myself in something I really enjoy — play a game, watch a good movie, cook, etc. For me, the pain is less when I’m engaged. I’ve been struggling with acceptance too. And the distinction between acceptance and resignation. The closest I’ve...

    Do i have TMS

I think it is safe to say most of us have felt that way - that we are different and won’t recover, catastrophizing. A great podcast I’ve been listening to that’s helped me gain a solid understanding of the way our conditioned mindsets work as a barrier to our recovery is the Tell Me About Your...

    Rage Dreams

A curious thing has been occurring lately. I have been having dreams where I absolutely lay into my mother. Screaming and pointing in her face, telling her harsh terrible things…all around reacting in a way that my awake conscious self would NEVER. And often for minor transgressions in the...

Guided Meditation for "unlearn your pain" Howard Schubiner

    Penile Pain

I think cactusflower provides great insight. In regards to the comment about the pain preventing you from living your life, I remember reading recently that while people often think of they could just get rid of the pain, they could start living their life again when actually it is beginning to...

New Symptom in early pregnancy - TMS?

Thank you both so much, this is just what I needed to hear. I know I need to continue to get my anxious and fear-based thoughts under control as pregnancy will provide many opportunities to take advantage of that mindset… I am going to treat this latest symptom as TMS and trust that even pains...

    Emotions are confusing

Just wanted to emphasis this point! This took me a bit to understand but made such a difference when I did! And I recently posted about how to "get past" the anxiety to actually feel my emotions. It remains a work in progress, but until TMS work, I never really understood this.
