Day 1 Day 1 SEP, but three months in

Getting your rage pot boiling might be a good thing. Isn't the way past TMS accessing and honoring our feelings? Im no expert on this but I'm curious about your maintaining a good mood with your rage pot boiling? Seems to me if you were honoring your feelings, a good mood would run counter to...

Day 1 Day 1 SEP, but three months in

Hi, Aldoah. Regarding your journaling -- if you're doing it online, I find it helpful to really access emotion by not looking at the screen while I'm typing away. I got a little weepy yesterday while journaling and my middle name is Stoic.

    Day 4 - Disheartening Doctor

The most disheartening thing a doctor (orthopedic surgeon) ever told me about my symptoms happened decades ago when I was in my late twenties. He told me I had disc issues and needed surgery. When I told him I was going to get a second opinion, he seemed insulted that I would question his...

    Adrenaline surge

One week into my recovery from a TMS episode (lower back) and I'm much better. However, I'm having these intermittent surges of adrenaline a few times a day that literally last half a second but in that tiny time frame my whole body locks up and it feels like I'm having a back spasm. The surge...

    What are your hobbies?

Hi, MindBodyPT, I stumbled upon a podcast recently that I think you'd enjoy. It's called "Seincast." Two pretty funny best friends discuss the "excruciating minutiae" of every single Seinfeld episode. I listen to it while I stroll the neighborhood or hike. Very entertaining. Curious who...

Cheating to Use a Heating Pad?

Thank you, MindBodyPT! I know this pain, too, shall pass. I know what caused it, I know not to be afraid of it ... I'm just ready for it to be gone already! I don't enjoy playing the "my pain is painier than your pain" game, but it's near impossible to resume normal activities when that TMS...

Cheating to Use a Heating Pad?

Cheating to Use a Heating Pad?

This is my third bout of acute TMS (lower back) in about as many decades and I'm a total believer in Sarno's theories but, damn, using a heating pad to help relax my locked-up muscles sounds like heaven right now. I don't know if this question is tongue-in-cheek or not ... would using a heating...
