The dangerous downsides of perfectionism

This article came through my Pocket feed today, and the title alone blew my mind. It's two years old, but timeless for us TMSers.

Check out the subtitle in the URL, and the article header, which is "Many of us believe perfectionism is a positive. But researchers are finding that it is nothing short of dangerous, leading to a long list of health problems – and that it’s on the rise."

Let me know if this resonates with anyone (LOL - that would be all of us).

Good one, Jan! Thank you for posting!

I find Western lifestyle which puts money and career chasing above peace of mindbody very conducive to a perfectionist behavior. No wonder, TMS is one of the manifestation of perfectionism taken to extreme.

Thanks for sharing. This line is really true "The rise in perfectionism doesn’t mean each generation is becoming more accomplished. It means we’re getting sicker, sadder and even undermining our own potential."
