Hi
@GirlFromBrazil
I have had similar responses - I have had a host of symptoms which fall under "dysautonomia" - essentially an umbrella term for undetermined "ailments" (complaints) that have physical manifestations but no structural or medical basis. Perhaps you may have noticed others along your journey? I have had POTS like symptoms, "low blood pressure" type symptoms (I actually do have very low blood pressure but no symptoms from it in the past), vestibular disturbances, visual disturbances, sudden onset of feeling the the floor is dropping out under me (almost like I"m going to faint), needing to use the washroom urgently...I can get VERY hot when eating a meal, and like you, sensitive to temperatures. I have always been sensitive to the cold or a draft. Some clothing I still find irritating (comes and goes) and I can't force myself to swim (something I love) because temperatures of the water seem to be incredibly off putting.
What have I done?
nothing that isn't TMS related. I use compassion for my nervous system which is still sensitive at times. When I feel bad or unsuccessful about surmounting issues, I remind myself how far I've come and begin to count my wins. Instead of finding the negative, I look to focus on something positive about myself and my journey because all along this way I am teaching my brain that nothing is wrong so that it can give some equilibrium to my nervous system. My mindset is simply that my body is still just looking out for me and in time, when it recognizes that it doesn't need to call attention to things that aren't the "lion" in the room, I won't have or at least will have much less time experiencing those (and any) symptom.
If you have done the emotional work, then you've already been working towards that more calm nervous system response. Keeping things like this from become a distraction, and irritation, a focus of any kind is another way to keep doing the emotional work. Place your attention on things that NEED attention in your life, and simply just let the other stuff go because it's temporary.
