Walt Oleksy (RIP 2021)
Beloved Grand Eagle
Colly, thanks for your kind words about the book. The book "God does not want you to be in pain" by the wonderful Walt and Herbie got me through a recent period away from home while working in Perth. It was a soothing remedy to my long days at work. I had to ration myself to a chapter a night so I didn't rush through it. I need to reread it again though, to fully soak up all the advice from Herbie especially. If there was an Olympic sport for mindfulness, Herbie, you would win gold for America!
Now I see why you imagine me as Tarzan.
Everyone working on TMS ought so see themselves as Tarzan, or at least Jane.
She was the perfect wife for him and not only because she could swim and look great in a loincloth with a top.

At the top of the Official thread for Section I (Introduction), it says, "Please keep these official threads on topic and put your best thoughts down, as these threads will be read by many people. All posts in this thread should all relate to section 1 of the TMS Recovery Program." The wonderful first two posts of this thread emerged naturally from the discussion in this thread, but the discussion was beginning to get off topic. The posts about God Does Not Want You To Be In Pain have been split off into this thread to give people adequate space to discuss that wonderful book. Keeping threads on topic helps people find the threads that they are most interested in and supports the goal of making high quality information about TMS available for free to everyone.
