    Hi,

I’m not here posting for sympathy, but to hopefully get some encouragement. I’ve had this “levator ani syndrome” rectal aching since March of 2018. It has forever changed my life . I’ve confirmed there’s nothing medically wrong so my brain has accepted that . (Blood work, mri , physical/visual exam).

I’m just getting exhausted with the roller coaster of having good days then awful days - weeks of just aching and discomfort from the moment I wake up to the moment I sleep with no concrete ways to lower the pain or get relief .

Have read DR Sarnos books, watched some YouTube videos on somatic healing , and tried just living life and not focusing on it and nothing has worked.

I feel like something is just missing and I don’t know what it is. A coach, supplemental medicine with the work im doing , having the proof that this can be beat.

Im having a hard time accepting this is what my
Life needs to be like for the rest of my time on this earth and realizing it can be pain free, I just need a better road map to get there.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time for any input.

    Sky

Ignoring is not Dr. Sarno’s prescription. He does not only say to just “go live life” by simply living as you always did. Is this how you’ve been approaching your symptoms?
Dr. Sarno sent many of his patients to psychologists because your emotional life, in particular internal, subconscious rage was an equal emphasis to his treatment - and it’s the part our minds often want to avoid like the plague. I have not used it, but others are really finding benefit in Vanessa Blackstone’s Pain Reprocessing workbook. Dr. Schecter, Dr. Schubiner also have workbooks and this website has a free program called the Structured Educational Program (link at the top of the forum page). All will help you with the work.

Have you tried the program on here? It's the SEP and free! This could get you started working each day learning about TMS and responding to journaling prompts. It's a good starting place or when when you are stuck.

I had pain in that area for 6 years so I know how you feel! All the suggestions above are great to start :)
