RIP Dr. Sarno

I stumbled on Dr Sarno (and the TMS wiki) after 23 years of pain and to have been healing ever since.

Despite the ongoing backlash, Dr Sarno challenged the medical establishment, courageously seeking out the truth.

Dr Sarno has empowered us all to reclaim our lives and that is the greatest gift of all. His books continue to heal the world one by one. We are blessed to have him in our hearts.

I have not been on here for quite some time. I just want to thank Forest for emailing details of Dr Sarno's passing. It has touched me this morning and I now want to make sure that his book (which is in my possession) is passed on to someone I know who could do with it's wisdom. I'd go for saint! Thanks again.

So grateful my orthopedist sent me off to read Healing Back Pain so many years ago. He saw the perfectionism and rage below the surface. You showed him so that he could show me.

After 15 years of debilitating chronic pain that started in my mid-twenties, after a new ailment would strike from nowhere on an almost annual basis, after having been beat down under a crushing weight of piled-up chronic health problems, after years of physical therapy, pills, pain centers and specialist visits... my back doctor finally said to me, "I'm going to write down the name of a book for you that has resonated with some people."

This book sent me on a course that saved my life and helped me to recover from pain I never thought anyone would be able to diagnose properly, having exhausted all the best doctors in the greater Boston area. I got my life back and over the course of months resumed physical activity I hadn't done in many, many years. The book, of course, was "The Divided Mind."

Dr. Sarno is gone and it is a very sad time for all of us who benefited from this great man's knowledge and bravery. I truly hope other professionals will carry his torch and that many new people will discover this forum so that they can recover like so many of us have.
