Beloved Grand Eagle
LOL, MHG, I had the same thought. A year "After Sarno" I was on the carpeted stairs that go from my front door to my upper condo unit, and the instant that I thought "Oh ugh, these really need to be vacuumed and cleaned" I had a massive spasm across my lower back. I had to get out an adjustable ski pole to hobble around for the rest of the day, but I applied my "okay now, what's going on" self-questioning tool and figured it out. The pain subsided rapidly after that and was gone before the end of the week.I'd be willing to bet that "this is probably not a good idea" was the exact thought passing through your mind when the pain actually hit.
It doesn't have to be earth-shatteringly emotional to cause our TMS brains to go into full stress>>fear response>>survival/protection mode.
