What are peoples' takes on using them for relief? Should they be kicked to the curb like other remnants of the structural diagnostic approach or are they acceptable?

Ibu seems to work for me, but you have to taper off to nothing as you proceed with the psychological TMS recovery process. Think that dulling the pain keeps you from obsessing about it and reinforcing the programming that keeps TMS going. I know that Dr. Sarno even used opioids during the first acute phases of a catastrophic back attack instead of going "cold turkey". What you really want to do is stop relying on them altogether. Takes longer for some than others to do the underlying psychological work needed to rewrite their TMS programming, especially if there are factors in their psychological and physical environments that continue to require TMS symptoms.
