Hi everyone
Hope you all are doing well. Long time Sarno follower here. Currently been very angry and stressed over may things primarily at work and some things home.
Now against my wishes I have to start a new job as I had to leave my previous job due to nasty politics

Anyway my left nostril is super stuffed last few days off and on. I don’t have a cold or allergy per se just some rhinitis thanks to cold temps but the left nostril stuffiness is out of control.

I keep wondering if it is indeed TMS and I should not freak out as it is causing disruption in my functioning.

my TMS pals: Do you have words of support, advice for me? Thank you in advance

I've definitely had this happen to me before in the absence of a cold or allergies (at least that I know of) - I would probably look at it over a broader timeline and see if it resolves itself in a week (from memory I've had it for a few days but often goes away around a week to 10 days) - having said that, it's always good to check in emotionally and take care of yourself in that aspect even in the absence of TMS symptoms. In fact, there's a school of thought to suggest way do this anyway (we deserve the self-compassion anyway) and that symptoms are therefore less likely to surface.

That's all to say there's no harm in treating it like TMS if that means you take care of yourself better internally :)

And please remember that we can't diagnose.

You are going to have to figure out how to assess the gazillion little body sensations your brain inflicts on you 24/7 as it goes about the job of keeping you alive.

Never forget that the brain is in charge of every single physiological process and sensation in our bodies! Sometimes there's a good reason for a new sensation to occur, but even then, it's up to you to assess whether this is something to even be concerned about.

If immediate medical attention is not warranted, you can consciously decide to check in with it after a reasonable period of time and stop worrying about it in the meantime - as Adam advises.

A stuffy nose is usually a histamine or inflammatory reaction, easily brought on by increased stress.

My advice: look up "Stress and Inflammation" and proceed from there to adjust your mindset and work on your anxiety. It will serve you well in the long run.

Be grateful for your right nostril which is working well. I'm only half joking here. Focus on what is working well in your body and your life.
