Hi everyone,
I’m doing well on my TMS journey. As mentioned previously, I’ve had neck pain for 7 years, and back pain for nearly two years.
My pain has significantly declined in recent weeks, though I’m not at 100%. I have strong mental associations with certain things, like sitting on my couch, driving, doing the dishes, turning my head to one side for an extended period of time, and some other things. It’s funny — in the moment, as I experience the pain, I am cognizant it is because of TMS, and I try telling my brain that the pain is just TMS, and there’s nothing structurally wrong. Some times it has gone away; other times it has not. But after doing these activities, I refuse to engage with the pain, and in lieu of any focus on it, it usually subsides.
All things considered, I’m pretty happy with my recovery thus far. I’ve even started light jogging again, something I haven’t done in nearly three years.
