My hands are loosening!

Diana-M

Beloved Grand Eagle
I almost hate to report this, for fear of jinxing myself. lol. But it’s been 2 1/2 years since my hands and arms cramped up as a final symptom on a pile of them that added up to a very stressed out nervous system.

My whole body is loosening very slowly, and mostly only noticeable to me. I can bend my legs in bed now. They’ve stopped cramping all night long and stiffening in the morning. My hands are about 50-75% looser. Not fully back, but my gosh, it feels amazing! One benefit of losing so much, is the amazing JOY you feel to get things back again!

It’s hard to say exactly what brought this healing all on recently. I think it’s just the summation of all the work I’ve done for the past more than 3 years. The Self exploration. Change, change, change. Letting go. Learning to LISTEN to myself. Really listen. Do I like this or hate this? Do I want this? No? Get rid of it.

Learning to FEEL emotions in my body. I can honestly say this was (still is) like learning a foreign language.

Dumping so so much crap from out of my reservoir of emotional pain. Quieting down. I’m loving a host of methods of calming. They are key. EFT tapping I hated 2 years ago. Now I love it. Also meditating to music designed for meditation.

Your body gets stuck. You have to help it get unstuck. These are all just simple ways of describing a very complicated journey. But I will say to anyone and everyone: never give up. Just keep going. Seeds of healing are growing beneath the surface. When they’re ready, healing will be evident in your life. Your body and mind WANT to heal. This forum has been a lifesaver and all the folks who have patiently guided me. You know who you are. ❤️ thank you!

Great to see the progress Diana, it can be frustrating the longer it goes on. I haven't really seen any progress for a while in my hands, think they are as loose as they can get until the main muscle/ligaments in my palm uncontract. In my feet its only my big toes that are causing me problems when i walk but i can feel its exactly like my hand in that theres a muscle currently refusing to uncontract which is causing the problem.

I jump most days on the trampoline with the kids which is helping, sometimes i wake up with a foot cramp in the muscle that i was on about before which leads me to think its trying to but my body isn't ready to release it.

@Fal! I'm right there with you. My feet and toes started to act up. Now it's back in my ankles and my calves are extremely tight. This is an old school symptom for me. Keep going and keep the faith. Try not to judge or reason with it or even think that your body isn't ready to release it. Welcome it by just being with it. It might simply be the "symptom imperative" - since you are enjoying a jump on the trampoline, your safety mechanism is simply switching up the game to keep you from all the areas you've been working on internally to feel safer within yourself and your body. In essence, it's all just doing it's job and trying hard to do it. Just like you are being successful with your hands, keep the faith that you will be successful with your feet and your whole mind and body. Take it in stride!
