Beloved Grand Eagle
I ran into a video today, courtesy of @feduccini — and frankly it blew my mind. It’s a podcast episode by pain psychologist Dr. Dan Ratner. The video was so enlightening to me. New information to add to my arsenal— all about how to understand the subconscious mind. I was so interested that I looked for Ratner’s book, Crushing Doubt, and began reading it.
What amazed me the most is how he views symptoms. They are viewed as a true gift that will help save you. They have intervened for a reason, and it’s your job to find out why. One of the big reasons is usually having to do with lack of power.
“Symptoms occur when we don’t feel powerful enough to enact our goals, stand up for ourselves, or align with who we are.”
I loved this, and recognize that lack of power has always been an issue for me. I’m very excited to have discovered this today. I think it’s the next step in my journey!
Here’s the video.
