Hi,
Let me introduce myself: my name is Guillaume. I am 32 and I come from France. I started to feel pain on my right wrist during January 2016, and quickly after, to my left wrist. After several research, I deduced I had the Carpal Tunnel syndrome as my symptoms was similar and since I am a Computing Engineer, it was clear that it had to be with my long hours using mouse and keyboard.
I tried several stretches exercises, my ostheopath made me wrists pressure treatment but the pain did not decreased...it increased instead. The pain was not only located on the wrists and sometimes on the forearms...
I recently (this Tuesday) read the "End Carpal Tunnel Syndrome" book from Andrew Bregquist which mainly refers to TMS and Dr Sarno work. This book bowled me over ! After reading the book, I immediately knew I have TMS as this book reflects me and since I am stammerer since my childhood, I have to deal with my emotions every time in my life. It's become an evidence now !
My pain started to decrease after I read the book and it is an amazing start. It opened what I call my "Emotions Pandora Box" and many emotions started to get out of me (I cry a many times these last days) but I feel that I need it.
I started my first journaling yesterday and it was really demanding ! I cried during 20 minutes as I never did before and I was just able to wrote 5 lines about my childhood.
I feel that my life is changing in a good way and I will continue to read this forum, the TMS wiki and other books related to TMS. There is no TMS pratician in France listed in the wiki and I am no able to travel to USA or UK at the moment, so I will have to work on my TMS by myself or maybe by Skype (some TMS praticion seems to do consultation using Skype).
I have a question about a really weird feeling I had during Wednesday and Thursday nights: when I triev to sleep, I had the sensation that I wasawake and I felt my subconscious "fighting" against my TMS and I felt my eyes blinking and I felt pain on my wrists and arms. My mind reassured my subconscious by telling me that this work is good for me and it that I don't have to worry. It was a really weird sensation as I felt to be in "trance". Thursday night (after my first journaling) it was even harder and I told to myself as a child "Don't worry Guillaume !".
Do you had this sensations while sleeping when you started to work on your TMS ? I did not have this feeling last night even after a journaling session. Could it be only temporary ?
In addition, I have a question about journaling: since the journal is on paper and need to be very personal to free the emotions, how do you protect it from other peoples to read it ? How do you manage your loved one, your children, family, friends to read it since you can write very personal things about them ? Do you told them about your journal ? Is just an "heart promise" from us to never read it enough for you ?
I don't want to fall into paranoia about my journal as it can be very stressful and so not a good for my cure on my TMS. I read in another post that several members throw their journal just after journaling. I throwed my journal yesterday and I read that it is up to everyone to keep or not their journal. It might be a good solution for me. Is it effective to throw the journal and read again several times after ?
Thanks a lot to you for reading me and thank you for keeping this forum alive. This was quite hard for me to type these lines as my pain came back while writing this post.
Regards,
