How to express rage

I feel like journaling feels more like angry rumination and I leave it with a negative feeling.

(...)

I'm not sure I fully understand "paying attention to the energy the anger generates vs. the thoughts" but I'm interested. I'd love to hear more.

Same. I use journaling more as a tool to organize my thoughts when they're all over the place. Angry journaling usually doesn't work well for me.

"Paying attention to energy" for me is like when I have a bad thought I pay attention to what changed in my body. Usually there's some sort of heat, or quick dizziness, that ramps up my body through my spine and keeps circulating in my throat and face. There are times it's so strong that my belly jolts upward (if I'm lain down), a very electrical sensation that has nothing to do with nerve pain.
