Hello all,
I'm new here; good to meet you all! I'm a former athlete who's suffered chronic back pain for over a decade. Tried everything including PT, injections, RFAs...nothing ever gave lasting relief.
I recently (only a week or so ago) discovered Dr. Sarno's work and theories, and it makes perfect sense to me. I'm not having any trouble accepting the diagnosis--which I know is a key part of the process--but I still find myself thinking about/fearing the possibility of pain very often, especially when I find myself contemplating getting back to more rigorous physical activity. I reinforce to myself that I know my pain isn't a result of anything being wrong with me and go through the reminders, and it helps. However, I was wondering if anyone out there had other good methods for overcoming that fear/obsession. Thanks!
