    Hi All,

I am scared! The sciatic pain is worst and I experience burning that runs down the back of my leg. It also feels like my butt spasms as well...

The only thing that helps and now that is starting to wear off and not working as well is Klonopin which is an anti anxiety med.

I am thinking maybe I need at least an xray to clear my mind that nothing is structurally wrong.

The worst part of all this, the drive I do is THREE hours to work EVERY day on a part time and by time I get out of the car my butt and leg are hurting bad...THREE hours for 4.5 hours must be pissing off the ID in me..

I am approaching my late 40's and the idea of being in limbo because I take care of my poor Mom is hard...But most of all I am not addict to Klonopin and need help.

Maybe Fred Amir or one of the TMS coach specialist could tell me if they can help me without having to have an Xray or MRI...

    Hi Shalya1012,

The one thing that should make you at ease is that you had the Xray and finally MRI which showed nothing wrong. That is great news and you can concentrate on TMS diagnoses.

So, this is the 2nd doctor who I have feel comfortable with!

Four months ago, I was diagnosed with pirfomis syndrome, then SI joint dysfunction and now good ol SCIATICA! I have burning and cramping! It hurts like hell to sit! I also have LOWER (below the belt ) pain I was told that it was coming from the scarum.

The thing that got me worried and this can be the TMS at play is it that my buttock went number and sometimes it will hurt deep in my private area on the right side of where the pain is. She didn't seem concerned....

I was told that Elavil will help and to go back to the gymn....

Then, I get this print out about what can cause sciatic nerve and it scared the HELL out of me...The worst one being tumor!

I suffer health anxiety and well damn this doesn't help me at all.

I was told by a TMS doc.via email that tumor on the spine is RARE and not to worry about it!

So far al testing come out normal...Testing meaning I have strength in both legs and no weakness nor drop foot....

I don't know what to do! I don't want to be on an antidepressant, I am fighting to come off klonopin and that seems the only thing to relieve the pain, but, even that isn't working like it used too.

I know my Drs look at me like yeah so what, they never take me seriously.
Even with the MRI my mind keeps going, "did they forget something", "maybe they should scan elsewhere" & so on. So the comfort is never there when your mind works like this.
It hurts to sit ans walk and do all things LOL. I really hate it. Funny I have a glass of wine and it hardly bothers me. Wine must make my inner child happy!
I guess my advice would be to stop chasing your tail, the result will still be the same. Take comfort in the fact nothing is wrong just your emotions/nervous system.
I too have health anxiety its an awful way to function!
Have you ever read Clair Weeks, accept it, let time pass and it will SLOWLY (i mean slowly) Fade!

Shalya1012, you and me are a like, LOL Wine also made my body relax and I didn't not feel any more pain. The pain was gone!!! I too suffer from Health Anxiety!! The worst thing is sitting in that darn car heading to working 2 hours one way and an hour coming home...Only for a part time job! I am in limbo and feel out of control. I am taking care of my 90 year old Mom!

Yes, I have read Clair Weeks, but, my problem is I feel it is for PANIC ATTACKS! I don't have panic attacks I have NERVE pain....

I am all too familiar with anxiety like type symptons!! However, Georgie Oldfield does have the perfect coin for TMS and that is STRESS ILLNESS!!! She list sciatic pain as STRESS ILLNESS!!!

Don't worry if they didn't find anything in your MRI, your clear to go!

Guess what before all this sciatic pain came on to me, I was diagnosed with Trigemenial Neuralagia! I had MRI of my brain with and without contrast! When I got that nothing was wrong, I had TWO days of pain relief!

Then, coming home from work, I opened the door and saw that our toaster was on FIRE!!! My poor Mom tried to toast a cookie! Four hours later I experiences stabbing like back pain in my disc and the next day SCIATIC NERVE pain!

I have been to TWO doctors, DO's who have not done one test on me! No Xray and or MRI!!! I pass their test with flying colors but the buttock pain sciatic pain and pernial pain aka prudenal pain doesn't concern them enough to do any test...

Again, I was given Elavil which I am so scared to start!!!! Antidepressants and trying to ween off KLONOPIN well, I am SCARED!!!

Are I kidding me I was told i have trigrkinal nuerlgia too. Sent all over the loop w pain meds, injections, just about loosing my mind for years. I spent thousands on a facial pain specialist! Guess what didn't work. I finally started putting capsaicin cram in my face and ignoring it then one day it was gone! How crazy is that. That begin my cycle of pain and obsession. Ugh do u still have that pain

I had what was known and idiopathic TM not he electrical zapping kind! It started at the most stressful time of my life!!! It was DULL and aching in my temple (right) and where the TM nerve starts...As soon as I got my MRI back CLEAN, I told my brain I knew what was going on! It disappeared! TWO days later SCIATIC NERVE PAIN on the RIGHT LEG!!!!

Are you starting any type of program??? I was thinking of counseling? I have to deal with getting off klonopin which will be probably increase my symptons plus make me depressed....I had to take a full tablet today just to easy off the pain and stop the depression!!! I don't want to take Elavil as the doctor wants me too...I wish we had a TMS doc where I lived and a cool TMS therapist like Georgie or any cool ones on this board...

    Hi Kalo,

Just saw your post. I was diagnosed with pirformis syndrome at one point and they stuck huge needle in it and gave me a cortisone shot which made my sciatica even worse.

I just worked with a 28-year old man who had back pain, severe sciatica, anxiety and had been so much pain that he was in bed for two years. He was considering ending his life. I started coaching him 3 weeks ago. He is now walking and sitting for more than an hour a day, driving for more than 30 minutes, and last Saturday attended a friend's birthday party in a restaurant. His pain has decreased tremendously and he no longer considers suicide as an option. He plans to start looking for work in January. More importantly, his anxiety is almost gone as he now has the tools and the skill to be in control.

It really does not matter what the X-ray or MRI shows. Unless you suspect cancer or fell of a horse, none of the spinal abnormalities are serious enough to cause sciatica. Even American College of Physicians advises against MRI or scans for lower back pain and related symptoms.

You can read my book and story of Allan Massison of Weymouth, MA. who had severed sciatica in the testimonial section of www.rapidrecovery.net. Most people recover following the Rapid Recovery plan. If you need additional support, you can join the free Rapid Recovery workshop on 01/13/16 (see info below). You can also setup a free evaluation at http://www.rapidrecovery.net/phone.html.

The most important thing here is to take massive action and take charge of your health so that your subconscious knows you mean business and let go of the pain.

    Hi Fred,

My pain came on quick after STRESS!!!! As falling off a horse...NOPE, and as for the Big "C" well, I would think after 8 months the doctors would have suspected something enuff to make me do MRI!! I was told that tumors are RARE!!!! I do have health anxieties and that would be the only reason I would seek MRI, but, as of yet no doctor has suspected it.

I WOULD NEVER get a injection for fear of what you just said happened to you! I will order your book for sure and join the FREE Rpaid Recovery Workshop.. However, is this workshop via SKYPE? I would also love to take your free evaluation too...

    Thanks, Kalo!

Glad no serious issue like cancer. Actually 3 studies have shown cortisone shots are no better than salt water shots. Of course, I found out about the studies later.

The workshop is via conference call with local numbers for 40 countries.

You can schedule the evaluation via the link given above.
