Can you explain me the maximum sentitization one can expect? I mean, if you are in a state if stress for 3 months, that implies how many month of desensitisation? Noone knows?

No one knows. But we do know that we can get better. Please listen to Claire Weekes (and/or read her book). I PROMISE you that it will give you hope and make you feel better. You’re looking for a guarantee. You got it. Broken bones can heal. Nervous systems can heal. I know you’re miserable and want to feel better fast. But that thought actually puts pressure on you (and guess what? Pumps adrenaline. Pressure = Danger to your brain.) So stop hoping there’s a quick cure. There isn’t. Just find a way to make today a good day. That’s the best thing you can do. Build peace one day at a time. There are a bunch of things you can do to soothe your nervous system. Have you ever heard of 4-7-8 breathing? Breathe in to a count of 4. Hold it to a count of 7. Slowly release to a count of 8 through pursed lips. This tells your nervous system you are safe.

Take it easy, brother. It’s going to be ok. Read Claire Weekes!!!

    Filipe,
I just thought of this other thing. Most of us have had anxiety our whole lives. This is from being in tough environments as children. And/or from our personalities. Or life events and how we react to them. You can even get anxiety in the womb, if your mother had it. (I’m certain I did.) But the truth is, until you get TMS or panic attacks (I’ve had both), you don’t know you have anxiety issues. So….. it’s very likely you’ve had anxiety longer than 3 months. But that’s ok. At last, you’ll know how to fix it. And prevent it. I have another good book for you to read about that after you read Claire Weekes.

I had that too. (So did other people on the forum.) It subsides as you calm down. Over the past year my anxiety has slowly diminished and my burning has, and other anxiety-induced symptoms. I’m sorry you’re in pain. It’s hard.

You see, I was looking, and looking for what was wrong with my throat, panicking, crying, not sleeping, and then I start to feel my whole body burning again. I try stopping it, but it was too late.

Yes, many of us come to this forum in a ton of pain. So much pain it is hard to imagine that you can "calm" yourself down. This is where the "work" comes in from either the SEP program or some other program. You will need to do something to help guide you as you heal again.

If you can do any form of meditation that will give you the most rapid improvement. It does for me. I like these two:

I haven’t known about TMS for very long, but after reading many success stories—honestly, most of them—I’ve noticed some clear patterns.
Many people don’t experience relapses for long periods of time, sometimes not even after a year. When symptoms do return, they often come back in a much subtler and less intense way. I assume this varies from person to person, since every brain is different.
I’ve also seen that flare-ups tend to appear after periods of high stress, such as fear returning, a significant emotional loss, or other major life events.
Even before I knew about TMS, I learned that neuroplasticity could be used to heal. I also understood that even if symptoms disappear completely, the neural pathway isn’t necessarily erased—it simply stops being used. In moments of intense stress, that pathway can become active again.
From what I’ve observed, relapses don’t always involve the same symptom. Many people never experience the same burning or neuropathic pain again. Instead, a different symptom may appear, often less frightening or completely different from the original one.
Overall, I believe attitude, emotional regulation, and personality play an important role. When someone stays relatively calm, manages their emotions well, and feels safe, the chances of symptoms returning strongly seem much lower. And even if symptoms do return, having recovered once is meaningful—it shows that the brain is capable of relearning safety and can do so again.

No tengo terapeuta.

¿Ustedes creen que si uno cambia esos rasgos de personalidad del SMT se curará para siempre?[/QUOTE]
