From 'Question to Ponder':
At times I've noticed that my constipation is linked to anxiety. I think that historically a lot of this anxiety has been linked to fear around needing to be 'the best'---that is, not recognizing that "I'm good enough". Recently I had a bout of anxiety/constipation while on vacation. I just continued doing my daily TMS work and did my best to not give either the constipation or the anxiety much energy or attention (not easy!). And what do you know, in a few days both symptoms moved through.
Are you having success at recognizing the emotions connected to your pain? If you have, how do these emotions make you feel? If not, what do you think is preventing you from doing this?
I feel like a lot of my TMS shows up in connection with 'learned behaviors', for example- pain in my wrist when typing
- knee pain when load bearing
- shoulder tightness when engaging my shoulder
