Day 3- Exercise and me

I have recently started by exercising, although I am not doing nearly as much as I used to do before the pain set in. I am now walking a little over a mile each day. Emotionally, it helps me handle the stress of the pain and everything going on in my life. Physically, it sometimes helps my pain get better. Prior to this happening, I did a lot of arm weights and shoulder weights and now since my shoulder is the part of my body that hurts, I haven't been doing that. I understand part of this program is to go back to doing everything you did before and having no fear that the pain will increase. I definitely still have fear regarding the intense arm and shoulder workouts I used to do. I am hoping by the end of this SEP I will no longer have that fear and will be doing my interval training again.

Hi, annarowens. You are doing great by starting to exercise and walk each day. Steve Ozanich says he healed from multiple pains by continuing to play golf despite the pain. Continuing exercise and discovering the TMS cause behind his pains healed him. His book, The Great Pain Deception, is terrific.

Fear and worry are 2 of my many personality traits that I have to manage on a regular basis. But now I know how those thoughts can control my actions. I have the "awareness" to manage and understand my thoughts and actions.

You will too.

Yes, hanging out with friends, laughing, and getting exercise are all great approaches to mind-body medicine. Good luck annarowens!
