This is Day 1 for me of the Structured Education Program.
I started feeling unwell about 6 months ago and recently my doctor told me I have fibromyalgia. I have been go go go for many years now, juggling being a working parent, looking after my parents who are unwell, helping others whenever they asked and neglecting my own self care. I have been under chronic stress for a long time, I have a lot of trauma and loss.
I have also been having myofascial pain for about 4 years now brought on by my job that requires a lot of repetative work.
I'm hoping that this program among other things I'm doing to recover will help me overcome not only the pain I have developed in the last 6 months but that it will also help me eventually be able to overcome my pain from work as well.
Not only do I want to recover physically but I want to learn to live my life better. Detach from all the negativity that I think brought me to where I am now.
I'm really glad I stuck to my gut and discovered this alternate world of recovery. I thought, this can't be right, I may have been living life dysfunctionally for a long time but I was feeling fine physically 6 months ago. There must be something I can do other then what my doctor is offering me.
I do feel a little overwhelmed and I think one of my biggest challenges is going to be patience and sticking to it. Life can be hectic with 2 little kids.
