Can mold causes tms ?

Hello,

I have read that a mold intoxication can causes neurological issues. I have been exposed to that last year, and it came back this year.
Yesterday I tried to clean up the mold and this morning I woke up with a lot of pain, even new pain that I never experienced.
My brother who also have neurological issues also experienced the same thing.
I know that mold allergy can be tms but i don't know.
I will do a blood test on monday to check the presence of mold in my body, just to be sure.
I'm curious about your point of views on my questions.

The whole 'Mold' hysteria began in the 80's or 90's when Ed McMahon wanted to get out of a home purchase and used Mold as the excuse for it. I am old and can remember trends....AFTER that, it was in the news. That was when everybody got excited about 'mold'...Chinese drywall, etc. Before that, it was just something nasty to clean up, but society sort of bought into it.

I work around mold almost constantly. I have to climb in attics and basements and do flood repair. Yeah...if it's crazy bad we remove it and I wear a paper mask and gloves, but aside from that have never had anything other than my normal dry sinus issue.

and remember, that is the "Regular" system that doesn't even understand TMS.

Us people with TMS seem to be more vulnerable to suggestion than most. Putting the blame on an exterior thing is what we do best. Maybe try reviewing what was going on in your unconscious/personal life when the symptoms came..it's usually hiding in plain sight. Us and mold have been around for millions of years and seemed to have evolved together....it can't have magically become malignant since Ed McMahons big story.

You are asking the wrong question for this forum. The mental condition we call TMS is a brain mechanism designed to repress unpleasant negative emotions and replace them with physical symptoms.

So the answer to your stated question is that NO, mold exposure can NOT "cause" TMS.

The opposite is true. Your TMS brain mechanism can use the presence of mold to create symptoms that are not physiologically related to the actual exposure. HOWEVER, only a neurological toxicologist or other appropriately trained and licensed professional can tell you what your risk of actual symptoms is, depending upon the type of mold you bring to them for analysis along with other tests.

Technically, I'm on board with @Baseball65's response, and based on your prior history, we know that you struggle with emotional repression, and you very likely have many TMS-based symptoms. However, I have to play devil's advocate for the forum and also answer your question this way:

I did school and church maintenance in the early 2000's. One of our guys back to College to learn how to detect it, chemically analyze it, proper abatement techniques, etc. AFTER he finished the course the Govt wanted a $10k dollar (cost) 'surety' bond, so we never officially did it professionally, BUT it seemed like a 'racket'.

I once took him some suspicious looking black stuff from a leaky vent on a job. I put it in a bag and he took it home.
Turns out it was Burnt Ventilation dust...e.g. just the normal fluffy stuff on an air unit that had gotten cooked in the vents.

So, even with what Jan said, there are a lot of things that look like mold that aren't. In fact when I worked at Vanderbilt, we were careful to never say the 'M' word lest we upset the very nervous teachers and students. We always said 'Mildew'. I have no idea what the difference is and I worked in maintenance (LOL)

I think I will focus on TMS, all this stuff is making me a lot anxious!
