Bladder pain and reduced urine flow?

Hi all. I am 99% certain I have what would be classified as Painful Bladder Syndrome or interstitial cystitis and that it is neuroplastic. My question here is whether the brain can also cause actual reduced urine flow? Whether through inflammation in the area or a tight pelvic floor? Up until now Ive mostly just had pain and burning, sometimes frequent urination, but now experience weak stream is somewhat freaking me out. Has anyone experienced this?

Yes it can! It's very common. TMS can impact basically any function of the body, but that doesn't mean anything is damaged. It's a software problem as opposed to a hardware problem (stress and emotions clearly impact the immune system, and in much the same way it can impact the urinary system despite no structural issue) :)

The hard thing is that years ago I had a urethral stricture. It was cured 8 years ago. But extreme stress and emotions this year triggered this neuroplastic pain in my bladder area (probably because that is an area I already have trauma with. I was coping o.k with pain and burning doing dr. H. Shrubinger's program. But now it seems the brain is trying a new tactic (so to speak) of reducing urine flow as well, which is really triggering the trauma of the stricture.

But helpful to hear other peoples stories as well.

It’s possible it’s neuroplastic. Muscle tension can cause low flow. However, if you haven’t had this already, I would see an urologist to rule out infection etc.If the urologist diagnosis bladder pain syndrome then it is probably TMS.

Yea, no infection - already ruled out. Going to make sure to rule out everything else as well. But the symptoms seem classic to TMS (or mind-body syndrome as I know it). Fluctuating pain level - some days gone completely, moves to different areas - bladder then urethra and sometimes abdomen, triggered by stress or emotion etc.

Sounds like it for sure! :)

Oh that’s seems hard! It’s hard to believe because the body can do all the stuff. Sometimes I also have a weak and slow flow. For how long do you have the bladder problems now?
