Day 9 Being bullied

Marla

Peer Supporter
Another journal about the past and I wrote about the last 1/2 of 8th grade and all of 9th when I was bullied by "the hards" that's what we called the group of smoking bad girls.

It was p.e. Class we were all running track and I stopped to ask teacher how much longer, she answered then asked me to tell the girls hiding behind tree to come out and run.

I did what she said, I was a classic good kid who followed authority.

I have thought about this later, she should have taken care of it herself instead of putting me in the middle.

Of course the kids thought I ratted on them and threatened, clipped, tripped me for a year and a half. I was scared. My parents did nothing.

My younger daughter same age started to get bullied, when I found out and school wouldn't do anything I drove her across town using a friends address to the best school. Amazing the things you learn.

Obviously the fear already in me from my early years gave me no confidence to stand up to these girls.

I was bullied by one tough boy in grammar school.
One day he challenged me to a fist fight in the school yard.
With lots of kids watching, I knew I had to fight, so I did.
We hardly exchange fists when he stopped and said okay,
he just wanted me to fight back. He and I became friends.

But your teacher was wrong in making you do her work.
