Good morning y'all. I saw a GI neurologist last week who told me that when we're in fight/flight mode we become more aware of our body's autonomic activities e.g. blinking, breathing, swallowing, heartbeats etc. I've noticed this to be the case and I've had bouts where my mind is focussed on the sensations of swallowing when not eating (just swallowing saliva). I know this is all TMS although I do not know if the thought triggers the sensation or vice versa. My strategy is just to allow the sensations and associated thoughts and let them float by without resisting them. Has anybody else experienced such symptoms and what was your strategy to deal with them? I know I will heal from this and life will be so beautiful someday. I know it and feel it. When I first read about TMS via Curable something resonated with me and I now know this is just temporary period in my life. I was so focussed on feeding my tummy with good and nutritious food that I neglected to feed the most important part of me ... the mind. I've fed it garbage for so many years ... just not being aware of so ... and this is exactly what I got garbage! I'm now going to feed my mind with nutritious stories of health, happiness and longevity. I'm going to allow my emotions to be felt - no excuses to anyone! I'm going to focus my life on the things I can control and find joy in those things. I'm going to be the CEO of me and take control over my life. No one is going to do this for me.

Right, I've got to log off from this forum now as I promised myself no more than 2 hrs on TMS learning per day ... rest of the day is for living.
