Anxiety, work and Claire Weekes

Hello All,

I am 13 months into my TMS journey. The physical symptoms are better. Anxiety and Insomnia are still quite strong. Many of us have anxiety and many of us are trying to hold down a job.

What helps you hang on at work?

I try to remember Claire Weekes in Hope and Help for your Nerves:
"Your brain is not damaged, as you might think, it is as capable as ever of complicated reckoning, but (in the anxiety state), you can only work at a slow pace" pg. 169
"You must relax to the best of your ability, breathe quietly and calmly and be prepared to think as slowly as your tired mind will allow" pg. 170
"The quality of thought has not changed, only its rate slowed born by fatigue and fear" pg. 170

Any thoughts you have that help you?

I have watched some of her videos. Since so many of us struggle with anxiety and many of us need to support our families by working, I was hoping to create a "how to hang in there at work thread". It is really hard!
