I suppose the title says it all, but how do I accept that what I feel is TMS and how do I accept the anxiety /fear ? Big question but I read Dr Claire Weekes book and she says it is key to accept . Fine but how do I get my brain to accept ???? It is sooooo tricky.

I think the trick is to stick with it. Keep studying and learning. Keep talking to your brain. It comes to you over time. A lot of people have been helped by the free class on this website called the Structured Educational Program, SEP. It’s geared to help you accept. That’s exciting you read Dr. Weekes. She will help a lot!

how do I accept the anxiety/fear?
My suggestion is to watch this video and do as recommended in it and keep practising what is recommended in it with regularity and patience. (You can apply the advice in this video to any pain and/or other physically manifesting TMS symptoms too, if you have any):

I second what @Diana-M advises... that is, to do the SEP because, as she says, it's geared to help you accept that what you are feeling is TMS.

I know it is key to accept and I do. I lose a small am't of belief when the discomfort is a 9 or 10 and then I have to talk to myself and be very mindful of what I'm doing and what my brain is thinking about. I just say I'm fine over and over, get involved in reading one of my many TMS books. I believe mine is learned pain as it gets worse through the day and is at it's high in the evening. Still have to push myself many times but my goal is always there waiting for me. I did it once for a short time and I can do it again for good. So can you/ Commit yourself to strength through belief in yoursIf you are able to exercise to up your endorphines. It helps me alot at times. Peace to you Nana

Diana thank you for your advice! The issue with the sep program is that I already did it 4 years ago. I wonder if there is another similar program that I could do?

Wow I love this video!!! My issue is that I get frustrated with this physical feeling and I obsess about it bc I get intrusive thoughts about it allllkl day.My mind is a recorder “ Can I live with it? Will I manage to decrease anxiety even if I still feel symptoms? How do others do it? And bla bla bla” I know the theory but what do I do when I get these intrusive worry thoughts about my physical health. I do not think I should engage in searching for the answers to these thoughts. Do I just brush them off and continue to get busy?

You remind yourself that your physical symptoms are just TMS. You talk to your brain and tell it that you know that the symptom(s) it's producing are TMS, but that it's unnecessary for it to be giving you those symptoms as there is no danger, you are safe, and what you are doing in your life at any particular moment is safe for you to do... And then you move on with your day, getting on with the things that you need to do and want to do in your life, despite the physical symptoms; you don't rail against those symptoms. Getting on with daily tasks shows the brain that you are in fact safe because if you weren't safe, you wouldn't be peeling the vegetables, washing the dishes or walking the dog or whatever. You need to be persistent with doing this as it's a situation of 'you versus your TMSing subconscious brain' and s0 you need to get this message home to your subconscious by letting the message percolate into it for it to eventually relent and stop giving you physical symptoms.

My suggestion is to read and following the advice in this book https://www.amazon.com/MINDBODY-SYNDROME-TMS-Recovery-Freedom-ebook/dp/B086DB49YC/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 (Amazon.com)
