Its difficult to do this, taking the step towards recovery from back pain but knowing the journey will be a little more involved than hitting up the PT every week or calling in on my chiropractor.

i am 32, a mother of a 14 month old and for the past 4 years about once or twice a year i have suffered with lower back pain. it always went away. i was a runner and triathlete, until this past two years when i had my son. recently about 8 weeks ago this familiar pain rolled around and for the first time it hasnt gone away. its getting worse and my PT just ordered my MRI, and i am sick to my stomach about it. Did i mention i am also on the cusp of buying our first home and moving away from our community?. i have very little help with my son as all of my family live back where i am from, Ireland. The more alone and fearful i get the worse the pain gets. So when i read Dr Sarno's book i quickly identified. Money is tight so i stopped going to therapy which looking back i think was a place where i got to air out alot of my worries. I worry like its my job!, if i am not worrying about something, i am almost uneasy about it!

My mother often says a problem shared is a problem halved. i believe being part of the discussion about TMS will facilitate my recovery and then when its my turn i can share my success story too. Its Day 1.
