Perfectionism Questions/Relationship between 2 of them!

Thanks for bringing this thread back up! I need to read it again! Aziz I relate with your post!! Interesting as I woke up with some pain after a weekend of performances of my DAUGHTER'S. I find my perfectionism can also reach out to my children and settle inside of ME! I try not to put it onto...

Perfectionism Questions/Relationship between 2 of them!

Hi Gail- A friend has read some of Brene Brown's books. The latest is "Daring Greatly" but she didn't like that one so much. She said it was a bit too "Oprah" for her. Not exactly sure what she meant except for maybe that it wasn't substantial enough for her liking- maybe too spiritual?? I...

Perfectionism Questions/Relationship between 2 of them!

Anne- Thanks so much for you post. Yes, lots to think about but you bring up some good points! I did speak to my DH this morning and he thanked me for making him aware of some of yesterday's issues. He is open to talking about this and working on himself which I am happy about and appreciate...

Perfectionism Questions/Relationship between 2 of them!

Thanks, Forest. What you say makes sense but is it really good to need to have everything "perfect" all the time. Cleaning obsessively, organizing, over-planning? Also, I tend to find the one thing I did wrong out of many wonderful things and I dwell on it... "I" am my own worst critic and...

Perfectionism Questions/Relationship between 2 of them!

I'm a perfectionist like most of us here... Anyway, throughout life I always thought this was a great thing- something to even brag about or be proud of. Only through learning about and dealing with TMS am I realizing it isn't so great! (How did I not know this???) I was watching a YouTube...

Which book to read next? How do they differ?

Thanks! Yes, I don't want to get obsessed with book reading... especially since I'm doing so much better. I thought if there were one or two others that may read differently than Sarno it might be interesting or helpful. Thanks again!

    Update since Dr Gwodz Seminar

Lori- Thanks- Yes, he said his lecture was very much the same as Sarno's. By the way, my wrist pain lasted 2-3 days and is totally gone now after talking to my brain a lot, "I know this wrist pain is not due to physical reasons, but due to the fact I don't want to think about ...... " Amazing.

Which book to read next? How do they differ?

I read Sarno's Healing Back Pain & The MindBody Prescription. I have a few books on my read list and was wondering how they differ? I am feeling much better but am interested in reading more about TMS. *Pathways to Pain Relief (Frances Sommer Anderson) *Unlearn your Pain (Schubiner) *The...

    Update since Dr Gwodz Seminar

gail- I think you're right... and I think I know that academically. However, I feel like when it happens to ME, it's sometimes hard to believe that it's TMS and not something physical.

New Here- TMS Questions and my story

So, I went to Dr. Gwodz's seminar a month ago. A lot of the info was info I had read already but a really useful thing was being able to ask questions throughout. He was really great! Also, the second part of the lecture that gave real strategies of talking to your brain. The first week, I...
