Erythromelalgia Relapse… Am I in hell?

I'm sorry not to be able to give personal recovery data as I'm still on the road. I don't post much here anymore as I don't really know what I'd be looking for from users But just wanted to say: I have myself exchanged emails with Howard Schubiner, who told me directly that this label is TMS. In...

SO happy to hear this for you. First time back here in ages and saw this. <3

    Could TMS cause OCD?

Old post to resurrect, but just wanted to say thank you for the STOP therapy idea and I'm definitely going to try it out. I've done the STOP part before myself but never the task-switching with it. Could be useful to help pay less attention to benign sensations!

About a year in, just updating on my journey.

Had a bit of a (depressing? Not sure) a-ha on a call with my TMS coach the other day where I expressed disappointment that things still felt the same, if not a bit worse, with that usual refrain of "why is nothing changing? I'm doing all the right stuff"... But then of course I realized... I'm...

TMS Theories vs Practical Applications - Kitchen Sink Edition (retitled 6.19.24)

Have you ever written a post on the circle method before? It sounds interesting, I'd like to learn more.

TMS Theories vs Practical Applications - Kitchen Sink Edition (retitled 6.19.24)

I think it's good to have users here with differing views; they're only as incompatible as you believe them to be tbh, once they're all in the mindbody space. Dan Buglio loves Sarno, preaches him all the time, is a staunch recommender of his books... He just thinks that it doesn't have to be...

TMS Theories vs Practical Applications - Kitchen Sink Edition (retitled 6.19.24)

Agreed, at least insofar as conscious emotions go. I'm wondering sometimes though whether or not the "hidden rage" I feel is towards the things I feel guilt/shame for. This is something I've only been considering since @Baseball65 posted here yesterday... Like basically, my shame and guilt are...

TMS Theories vs Practical Applications - Kitchen Sink Edition (retitled 6.19.24)

This is fair, and interesting to hear of your success rates. I'm someone who's been aware of TMS stuff for probably 6 years now but have been dealing with this specific symptom for just over 2, so the idea of that rapid release/recovery is obviously super appealing. But so far haven't managed...

TMS Theories vs Practical Applications - Kitchen Sink Edition (retitled 6.19.24)

(I realise as I've written this, this is more broadly a reply to the earlier PRT discussion than to you personally, so sorry if it feels disjointed lol.) Yeah, I appreciate this as a problem. It is annoying and it does suck but I would fall on a similar position to Ellen where sometimes, the...

    anal discomfort

Nicole Sachs' Journalspeak is a pretty good example. She's got a podcast and a website, and was a patient of Sarno herself who journalled under his direction.

TMS Theories vs Practical Applications - Kitchen Sink Edition (retitled 6.19.24)

Different tools work for different people IMO. If you feel a strong pull to it, give some of its techniques a go (with an attitude of lightness, etc. Don't TMS about TMS!) and see how you find it. Everything in the space has its proponents and detractors, from journalling to meditation to...

TMS Theories vs Practical Applications - Kitchen Sink Edition (retitled 6.19.24)

PRT is the technique coined and used by Alan Gordon, Howard Schubiner and related practitioners yeah. It's a less emotionally focused (though not exclusively; Schubiner explicitly uses expressive writing in his work like Sarno discussed) POV on TMS which focuses on pain being a learned habit...

Looking for advice on shaking off other people doubting you

I took your suggestion and journalled a little on this (and broadly about doubts) this morning, thank you.

I thought I was doing well, but.....

Hi TG - sorry to resurrect such an old post, but maybe you'd be happy to know its power even years on. I just finished reading your book today and felt compelled to look through your early days here on the forum... And this post right here, describes almost to a t exactly what I've been feeling...

Looking for advice on shaking off other people doubting you

Agreed. I think this was specifically someone who felt "no, this works for some stuff, but not THAT..." kind of. I feel a little embarrassed I'm having trouble shaking it off because the person's a stranger and I have no reason to trust their judgment, but it's quite rattled me.
