    Is TMS contagious?

Veronica You are the master of your emotional states. You create them with what you focus on, how you communicate to yourself, your beliefs, how you use your body, etc. Commit to living in good emotional states and then you can start infecting others with those.

    Is TMS contagious?

There's a well documented phenomenon called "emotional contagion", see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotional_contagion. It seems logical the emotions of TMS could be contagious as well.

Tony Robbins for TMS... Yes, the informercial guy

Forest Great ideas/ suggestions. I put 3 of the best things I got from Tony Robbin's in my post here: http://tmswiki.org/forum/threads/fibromyalgia-and-chronic-fatigue.198/ In addition to those, I learned the importance of beliefs, and a process for eliminating negative beliefs (such as I am...

    Fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue

I was never diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome but I can tell you I often felt exhausted years ago. 3-4 strong cups of coffee couldn't keep me awake when I was fatigued, and I regularly snoozed the alarm 5-10 times before getting out of bed. During the last 10 years, I've dramatically...

Dr. Zafirides How Stress Causes Illness: It’s All About Inflammation

Doctor Thanks for sharing. For those curious, a more detailed study writeup can be found here: http://www.psy.cmu.edu/~scohen/ Click on "abstracts" on the left side, then it's the first link. I think it's worth noting the study documents the impact of stress on immune system; specifically...

Tony Robbins for TMS... Yes, the informercial guy

fwiw, I've found Tony Robbin's books, CD programs and seminars (I've done them all) to be helpful with my TMS. I got introduced to his ideas long before I learned about TMS. I've found he has some powerful and unique strategies for replacing disabling beliefs (e.g., I am injured) with empowering...

    Hypochondria? Trying to stay calm...

David Time to rejoice!!! Pain moving to a new area after thinking about it is proof positive it's emotional in source and will not harm you. I've found trying to push the thought out doesn't work. I accept it, tell my brain I know it's tricks and that I'm fine and it passes in time. I've...

Has anyone tried Dr. Schubiner´s program?

I agree with positive posts, Dr. Schubiner's book one of the best $25 I ever spent. His treatment program is very detailed and extremely helpful, and his explanations of the causes/theory as good or better than Dr. Sarno's. I echo MorComm, I would save my $100 until I was done with the book and...

Is Quitting PT exercises a must?

I feel like a man let out of prison. I spent over 4 hours on the computer yesterday, punted my PT and feel better than usual. So glad I made this post and got your feedback! I was reading Healing Back Pain last night and in it Sarno says it took him about 12 years after coming up with his...

Is Quitting PT exercises a must?

Hey TMSers, thanks for all the great support. I quit the PT and spent four hours today on the computer - none worse for the "wear". Part of that was updating "my story" on this wiki.

Is Quitting PT exercises a must?

Thanks to all of you for your feedback. My gut was telling me I should quit the PT and you all have confirmed my instinct. Very helpful! It does suck up a lot of time that would be better spent on emotional work, general exercise (I like hiking, mild yoga, etc) or just relaxing. I had cut...

Is Quitting PT exercises a must?

I've had RSI for 6 mos and just learned about TMS over the last week and am certain that's my issue. Just that awareness has already helped. I'm the classic case emotionally - childhood trauma, perfectionist, bury my emotions, lots of anxiety around the pain, etc. I understand the...
